Do I need an account?
Not to look around. Tap Look around first to see what's on. You'll need an account to join, chat or host.
How do I sign in?
With Apple, Google, or your email and a password. Email sign-ups get a code to confirm the address.
Joining
How do I join an event?
Open it, pick a date and tap Join. Paid events take you to checkout. Your spot then shows under My Events.
Where's the exact address?
On the event once your spot is confirmed. Until then you see the area, to keep hosts and guests safe.
How do I check in?
Open your spot in My Events and show your code at the door. It works without signal.
Paying and refunds
How do I pay?
By mobile money or card, at checkout. Prices are in Ghana cedis.
Can I get my money back?
It depends on the event's refund policy, shown before you pay: no refunds, or refunds until 24 hours before it starts. You always get a full refund if the organiser cancels, or if they change the time or place after you joined.
The event didn't happen. What now?
Open the date in My Events and tap Report a problem within 48 hours of its end. We'll check, and if it didn't happen everyone who paid is refunded.
Hosting
Can anyone host?
Yes, for free events. To charge, you need to pass the ID check and add a Ghana mobile money number in the name on your ID.
When do I get paid?
Automatically, to your mobile money number, after each date has happened and the 48-hour report window has passed. You receive the price less Abonten's fee for that event. Profile, then Payouts, shows each date and where its payout is.
How long does the ID check take?
Our team reviews each one by hand, usually within a day or two. If something's wrong we'll say what, and you can send it again.
Staying safe
How do I report someone?
Use Report on the event, the person's profile or the message. You can also block anyone. We look at every report.
Meeting people for the first time
- Look for the Verified badge on organisers of paid events.
- Tell a friend where you're going.
- Pay through Abonten, never directly, so you're covered by refunds.
Your account
How do I change my name or photo?
In Profile, tap Edit.
How do I delete my account?
In Profile, tap Delete account, or delete it on our website without the app.
